Lorenzo D. Grant Internship Program
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, April 9, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. EST

On December 7, 2004, the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority lost one of its staunchest supporters;
a good-will ambassador to the aviation community; a faithful pilot who consistently made us aware of the issues
facing modern day aviators; and a friend. As a charter member of the airport's Board of Commissioners,
Lorenzo D. Grant was a special person in the history of McGhee Tyson and Downtown Island Airports and
we are happy to be helping to preserve his legacy by offering the Lorenzo D. Grant Internship Program.
The internship program is our way of continuing to emphasize the principles that were important to
Mr. Grant - education and community involvement. By partnering with his fraternity, Beta Theata Boule,
Sigma Pi Phi, we are able to balance an aviation workplace environment with a community support system.
Our goal is to work together as a community-based team to pass along Mr. Grant's passion for aviation
through hands-on learning experiences and knowledge-building activities. We hope this program will
help produce viable, enthusiastic students who work to move the aviation industry forward and who
want to leave their own personal handprint on the growth of aviation.
